Hey ya’ll. I’m Limus Woods, and I am a resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. In this blog, I will be doing articles on the subject of homelessness, from personal stories, to reactions to current news stories and events, and everything else related, from poverty to low-wage issues.

I’m a Professional Freelance Writer/Editor, and a member of the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors (IAPWE). I’m 36-years-old and have been telecommuting as a Freelance Writer/Editor for seven years.

It took me three and a half years to develop myself as a writer, because all before that I worked in hospitality. I did all kinds of different writing jobs for all kinds of people and businesses to grow my resume, and I learned a lot about search engine optimization and how frequently you should blog to rise on Google’s search results. But, the thing is, I was doing a whole lot of writing that I didn’t really want to do, although I realized that when you’re paying the rent, you got to just take the jobs that come. I don’t regret any of it because I got a lot of experience, but after a while I felt lost.

I found myself stuck after several years trying to figure out why I didn’t like writing anymore. It was because I felt like I had a bigger purpose in it than just doing any job that came up. I needed my passion for writing back again, and I knew there had to be some calling or purpose or cause that God gave me this gift to represent. I did a lot of soul searching and praying, and I figured it out.

The reason that I picked homelessness and poverty as my primary type of writing from here on out (over the next 20 -30 years) is because it’s the most therapeutic for me, as well as the fact that in my city, Myrtle Beach South Carolina, homelessness is one of the most underreported things. After going through it myself, I decided that this blog is going to be dedicated to bringing awareness to that ongoing terrible issue that’s going on right here at home.

If you’d like, you can take a look at my other published clips, letters of recommendation, and resume (they’re all below, after my contact info). Enjoy the blog, and keep the faith.
